Mastery Based Grading

At MAELS, our mastery based learning environment focuses primarily on student growth. Teachers facilitate experiences to empower students. Students monitor and assess themselves through guided reflection. The absence of traditional grades allows our community to focus on descriptive, timely feedback which leads to continuous improvement. Mastery is reached when proficiency has been demonstrated in multiple times and in multiple ways.
